I have a very exact vision in mind for this personal goal and project planning site concept.
Im using a selection of plugins for the first time and I hope that most can be ultimately customized and removed into a core theme concept.
I have zero time to put into the window dressing of the site right now and as long as I can read it I will be happy.
This Lab Post will be used to keep up with changes to the base Skeleton Framework as I make my own child theme and eventually hopefully package it all into a themed theme concept that can be re-used by those with similar mindsets.
Some initial additions I know I will appreciate are:
- A very precise typography style that is more in line with the clean, very readable styles I appreciate at sites like DIYThemes.com, CopyBlogger.com , Yoast.com, HubSpot.com etc.
- Custom Fields used to mark a “Problem” as Solved or a Goal as Completed that will have a visual representation in archive pages and posts – perhaps even searchable – I have done this before for a wine classification system, but hell if I remember how.
- Ajax powered (or something else) lateral navigation for quickly jumping through the scribbles, notes, snaps sections
- Custom Category based Calls To Actions that explain the purpose of the site or section to someone who may wander in. I wouldn’t want someone landing on a personal problem or error page and blindly thinking my solution is an authoritative answer when most will likely be works in progress
- An easy exercise/weight/diet tracking system for the body section. I wouldn’t be surprised if this has been handled well by a plugin designer already. But, I will need to search and test.
